Current Favourites – September 2017

Hi my Angels

I hope that you had an amazing September. Can you believe its October already? I mean two more months until the end of the year, it has been a whirl wind of a year. But none the less it has been fun. September has been a very unique month in terms of favourites. Some of these products went from favourites to holy grails, which is rare. So check them out.

LOV illuminating primer

Spring being the month of beautiful glowy skin, I had to find myself a really good luminous primer and let me tell you, this is everything. I absolutely love this primer especially on bare skin it gives my skin a natural almost rose gold glow. I don’t know if this primer will work on very fair skin tones though as it has a slight tint to it. I also really love the look of this product I don’t talk about packaging often but this is beautiful. It’s a glass bottle that has a pump and is really sturdy and feels high end. A little of this product really goes a long way and creates a lovely luminous finish. This has been my go to primer.

Dermalogica Ultra-calming Serum

My skin completely freaked out on me this month and I had a crazy allergy which I think was caused by pollen (we had fresh flowers in the house and I touched it and I think I touched my face after). So my skin ended up having texture on it similar to an orange peel and it was really red and irritable. My saviour was my Dermalogica Ultra calming serum, I don’t think I could have survived without it, it provided the relief that I needed at the time so that I didn’t scratch or touch my skin as well as it soothed the burning sensation. Now I have extremely sensitive skin and a product like this is essential for me to have as this happens to me quite often so thus this has now turned holy grail for me as I honestly feel like I can’t live without it. Now this is product is extremely expensive but a little really goes a long way. I ended up using this product both day and night coupled with taking allergex for 2 days (I could add allergex as a favourite as well) and my allergy went away. I do also use this product as well after I wax as I tend to break out due to my sensitivity so I am glad that I have it around for those times.

Eucerin Aquaphor smoothing skin balm

This was an epic find for me and  I have been using this for quite a few months, so my mum actually was given this by her dermatologist after she had small procedure done they recommended to put it on after the scar had healed to prevent the skin drying out and itching. My mum ended up giving me that sample for something but I ended up using it as lip balm and life changed. I have the driest lips ever and I am always on the hunt for something that keeps my lips hydrated. This is great for that in fact you can use this as an all purpose balm as you can actually apply it to any part of the body that is dry. I actually use it particularly when I am sick and my nose starts to burn from blowing it too much, it keeps my nose from drying out and getting those sores. I also noticed, and I don’t know if it’s just me ( well, my mum noticed it as well), but this has made my lips appear more lighter and pinker which I think is amazing because I have extremely pigmented lips. Some lip balms can cost almost R60 for only 10ml of product so this is definitely worth the investment as this stuff lasts forever.

NYX epic ink liner

DSC_0065 (1)

I have been on the hunt for a black matte eyeliner with a brush tip for a while as my favourite Loreal so coutour liner has been discontinued in South Africa. So finding this was great especially since I know that NYX won’t discontinue one of their best selling items. It’s a beautiful eyeliner, it’s very black and pigmented and dries down matte, it doesn’t smudge at all and lasts the entire day. The brush tip takes a little bit of getting used to if you are an eyeliner newbie but once you get used to it then you are good.

Sorbet Long Wear nail polish in Purple Rain

DSC_0072 (1)

I had purchased this nail polish shade for my mum for mother’s day she was eyeing it when we went for our pedi’s so I picked it up for her. She used it before and it looks exactly like it does in the bottle which I assume is because she is fairer than me but on me it ended up looking like a beautiful pinky nude which I actually adore and I feel that this nail polish will look amazing on every skin tone and also with every outfit today. I don’t have a shade like this at all and I feel like this colour should be a staple in every girls collection

Perfume

Georgio Armani Si Perfume

DSC_0048 (1)

If I can do justice to this perfume I would describe this as a sophisticated rose but yet sweet smelling perfume, which is actually not me at all. I usually use perfumes that are more intense with hints of vanilla and jasmine so quite full bodied perfumes as opposed to light and feminine. I was quite surprised that I was reaching for it more and more. I don’t know what it is about it but I love it. It is a mature scent and does suit women older than me so this is perfect for someone in their thirties or early forties. But I can’t get enough of it for some reason.

Tech

Bling USB charger

DSC_0070 (1)

This I purchased as I was sick of my Apple charging cables breaking on me, I must say it is worth the investment. This is a wrapped cable which looks so pretty and feminine in pink I love using it for my power bank or to connect my phone in the car. I love also having the peace of mind that this won’t break or snap like the normal cables.

Food

Mugg & Bean

muggbean_logo

I tried Mugg & bean about a month back after going on a hiatus from them. I felt like before they were too expensive and that their food didn’t quite meet the standards but I see over the years they have really stepped up their game in the industry and have taken the market by storm. I absolutely adore their menu now and feel like there is something for everyone and it meets all requirements. So particularly I have been really addicted to their house blend coffee which I feel is my perfect coffee. I love the notes of chocolate and almond as well as the caffeine kick that I get out of it which is rare for me. Mugg & bean has made its way into my heart with their food and coffee and I am so glad that I tried them again.

That is what I have been loving for September loves. I hope that that you are liking these monthly favourite posts, would you like me to continue them? Let me know in the comments.

Until my next one

Stay Glam XOXO
